Vice President, Education

The VP, Education is a subject matter expert in Higher Education industry. The role requires senior strategy thought leadership across various areas within that vertical. The expert will have a significant hand in closing business with CMO and CIO level clients by understanding relevant challenges and opportunities in each sector and turning that into actionable value creation to the client through brand improvement, digital experience innovation, performance marketing. Subject matter expertise and strategy are key to this role to understand current and future trends and how we fill that need.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounts on the Primacy Higher Ed pod
- Lead larger client accounts with support from team members
- Lead role in cultivating new business relationships, partnering with Delivery leads to prepare highly relevant, strategic, and spot-on proposals in new business
- Mentor all members of the Higher Ed pod team
- Form strong relationships with decision-makers at each of the clients on the Higher Ed pod
- Responsible for overall sales and growth of the Higher Education industry pod, regardless of whether or not it has come from net new or existing / installed base clients
- Brainstorm proactively with pod team to facilitate new thinking, mentor and unlock new ideas, and maximize the talents on their pod to grow it and the people on it
- Work collaboratively with all of the pod leads- Financial Services, Healthcare- across industries to share wins, fails, learnings, insights and solutions
- Craft referral strategy and activate consistently against it
- Ensure consistent, methodical outreach efforts become their key behavior to constantly build relationships with new prospects and existing clients, ultimately cultivating them to become clients when they are ready to buy
- Primary lead on new business opportunities related to their industry
- Proactively monitor and report insights on progress within their industry
- Responsible for reducing Cost of Sales on their pod, constantly monitoring the investment versus return on our efforts, time and investment in new business
- Write thought leadership according to the strategic media timeline set forth by the Growth Team by way of Entity Marketing
- Active on their personal LinkedIn networks, sharing advice and engaging with those who engage with them and/or they seek to nurture
- Attend and speak at conferences
- Lead role in writing Project Overviews to help Delivery partners scope new opportunities in Primacy's project management system
Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience with a proven ability to build productive relationships with VP, SVP and C-suite leaders
- Agency experience a must
- Deep knowledge of the Higher Education industry, must be the most seasoned, experienced, heavily connected strategic voice on all things in the Higher Ed vertical
- Strong understanding of the trends, opportunities, and challenges in Higher Ed, including the role of critical technologies across the digital ecosystem
- The ability to drive a strategic and successful approach to new business opportunities
- Must maintain a strategic and collaborative approach to short- and long-term client success and account growth
- An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to act both independently and as an essential, sought after, collaborative member of the internal teams
- Deep rooted experience in the use of CRMs
